Karson and I made a very quick trip to South Dakota this past Thursday night for uncle Kevin's funeral. We left about 640pm and arrived in Mitchell at 11pm. We successfully checked into the hotel and hauled our luggage. We've not done this before without Daddy. Karson got to sleep with me in the big bed for the first time, he thought that was neat. Although, I did not because he hogs the bed! In the morning we went to G & G Siver's hotel for some breakfast, playing and visiting. We were blessed to see many family members even though it was not a pleasant circumstance. After the funeral, we went to Kevin & Kris' house to visit, then to swim at the hotel. Karson was a hoot. I think G & G were very surprised. He kept going around the edge of the pool, then jumping in whenever he felt like it. He doesn't get the concept of going under water yet, although he kept saying no mama, no mama when I would try to hold him up so I let him adventure under a few times. He laughed and hollered like it was the best thing ever. G & G kindly took us out for supper, Great Grandma Davy and Great Aunt LeAnn joined us. We hit the road about 630pm Friday night, arrived home about 11pm...just in time for bed.

Even though Karson has not been able to see Grandpa & Grandma Jackie that often, he knew right away who they were. As soon as he seen Grandpa Jim, he said Papa!!! Then Gamma when he see Grandma Jackie. He gave them lots of love, hugs and kisses.

From the time we get up in the morning, pick Karson up from daycare or after his nap - he says outside mama, outside daddy. It's his favorite place to be. He knows what all the tools are for and how to use them. So he helps Pete work on the mud truck or whatever needs fixing.

Karson was the best boy for riding 4 hours in his car seat. He did so well. Read books, played with toys, ate many snacks. He has become attached to his blankie and friend Milton the Monkey.

We hosted our annual get together at the lake all weekend. I didn't take an official head count, best guess was about 50 kids and adults. Some camped, some just came to enjoy the day. Very fun weekend - good fishing, fun volleyball games, yummy fish fry, watching fireworks on the lake, bonfire games, kids playing in the giant sandbox and swimming. Karson had so much fun with all the kids around and being outside for 4 days solid.

New Set of Wheels

One day last week when I came home from work, this fun toy was in the driveway. I have yet to find out where it came from...Pete says it just showed up.
