Valley Fair, August 2009

We spent Saturday at Valley Fair with a big crew (G & G Kolb, G & G Wersal, Pat, Jen, Andrew, Jeremy, Mike, Tami, Noah, Kaleb, Isaac, Derrick & Rachel).
Grandma Sandy's work sponsored the event with free passes and a nice lunch.
Everyone had a great time. The water park looked awesome but it was only about 70 degrees.
There was a huge foam ball play center that Karson and the other boys really liked. In fact, I think some of the adult boys liked it too.
One of the highlights of the day was Grandpa Beef getting on the carousel and then trying to get off!

Mr Mischevious

Karson has discovered all of my tuppware bowls, lids, etc. We had to put the safety locks on many drawers and cupboard but I left a few for him to play with that are not harmful. He's just an all around happy boy, always smiles at anyone that looks or talks to him. We did have our first separation anxiety at church last Sunday. We decided to try to put him in the Go Kids Daycare area while we were in church. It was not long before his number came up on the screen. Pete went to get him, he was crying. Probably scared because of the strange place and people. Otherwise, we leave him at daycare, and with grandparents and he could care less that we leave.

Fun in the Sun

The past weekend we spent the afternoon at the lake. Karson discovered many news "things" like seaweed that he could pick up and throw around, rocks and the mucky dirt in the water. He was covered head to toe in gooey slime. He never stopped smiling tho! He loves to push around the older boys monster trucks. He figured out how to climb in their motorized monster truck and was playing with the levers and buttons. All of a sudden he must have found the gas pedal - away he went. My heart jump a mile I'm sure. His face lit up and he giggled. Would not leave that alone for an hour. So then daddy gave him a little ride on the big 4 wheeler. He already is addicted to anything that moves and you can't drive. All boy!

Just Scootin' Around

I love to drive or ride!

Grandpa & Grandma Wersal had cousins Noah, Kaleb and Isaac for a week. Karson loved the attention and playing with them. Each one of them had a bike or scooter to tear around the driveway.

Community Days, Lonsdale, MN 2009

Community Days is the local town festival in Lonsdale where our cafe is located. Karson was amazed when he watched the "Kiddy Car Cruise" as there were tons of little motorized cars zipping by. We served food outside and enjoyed the activites.

First Black Eye

Karson has his very first big shiner. He's become a pro at walking, can stand up from anyplace without hanging onto anything. He's very strong and doesn't like to sit down much. So, two nights ago when I was trying to give him his bath he took a little spill in the tub. He was standing up on the bath mat, I was holding onto him with one arm and washing with the other. He quickly turned away from me and kaboom! It instantly turned black and blue and swelled up. He was crying, I was just about crying and yelling for dad to bring the ice pack. It has not bothered him since but it looks worse every day.

Yet Another Weekend of Softball - Winona, MN

We spent last weekend in Winona, MN which is a beautiful area. Dad played in the District tournament, Karson and I watched, cheered and clapped. He has discovered bats, gloves, sunflower seeds, picnic tables and much more! The hotel we stayed at had a little kiddie pool area that was fun for Karson to walk around, sit down and splash in.
